SPRINGIN' INTO SHORTS

Let's face it, here in Texas where I live, the weather has been all sorts of crazy. One minute it's sunny and hot, the next minute it's a forecast of storms and golf-ball size hail so it hasn't exactly been the ideal springin' into shorts weather that this post is about. However, when those sunny days do make an appearance, so do some of my favorite pair of shorts.

Once upon a time I used to be super self conscious about my legs and you would never catch me wearing anything that wasn't all the way down to my ankles - NEVER! That meant no mini or midi dresses, skirts and absolutely no shorts but all that seems to have changed as I've gotten older and over feeling insecure about my skin. Now I show them off in all their imperfect glory!

Upon relocating to the U.S, it was such a breath of fresh air to notice how freely women sported their shorts without a care in the world. I love the confidence with which everyone springs into shorts once the seasons change and the weather permits. So take these denim shorts for example, I bought these from Forever 21 like 2 years ago and paired it with this cold shoulder top from Romwe.

One of the things I really want to do is attend Coachella and when that eventually happens, even though my old ass should not be crashing events for the young millenials, this is an outfit I could definitely pull off.

This is my version of street style which I think should be simple, fun and uncomplicated. Everything feeling so light and airy just enough to appreciate the cool spring breeze without catching an unnecessary case of the flu.

A nice day at the park or a food festival is where I could wear this ensemble to.

I talked about getting these pair of Calvin Klein shorts as a gift in my shopping finds post earlier this month and loving how versatile they were. I could style these for a day or evening time event and still look appropriately dressed regardless.

Style them with a pair of sneakers as seen here, some platform heels, wedges or even some cute knee high gladiators and watch heads turn as you walk across the room. What room you ask? Any room sis!

Same pair of shorts from Look 1  but done up a bit with my favorite thigh high boots and kimono from Shein. I could absolutely wear this to one of my favorite artist's concerts so like a Beyonce or even one of my beloved naija artists like Falz or Davido.

Whether you find yourself springin' into shorts for spring or summer time, remember to always keep it cute, day or night time appropriate and going ham on the accessories is always a good idea.

How would you be styling your favorite pair of shorts this Spring? Comment Below..
