HOW TO INVEST IN YOUR DREAM FUTURE

As I was researching this topic, I realized that nothing was really coming up that lent to the message and tips I wanted to put across in this post. I want to share the ways I am currently investing in my dream future without having to spend any money at all.

So without any help from google, I'm going to share what I've been doing for over a year as my way of obtaining the tools I need to put in effect in a manner that I hope will bring to life all my dreams and goals. I heard someone somewhere say once that "if your dreams don't scare you then they aren't big enough" and sometimes I'm afraid that my dreams are just too big and too crazy to come true but if I'm going by the above quote then I suppose I've at least got the 'dreaming' part down. The question then becomes what I'm willng and prepared to do so they do not remain JUST DREAMS!

When you are going through a rough patch in your life and it seems like things are just dragging on endlessly with no hope in sight, no light at the end of the tunnel and the walls are all caving in on you, it can feel almost impossible to think positively about your future or accomplishing any goals you set. When the funds you have (or don't have) are so limited that you literally have to choose between eating or paying for that class that promises to teach you all the secrets to unlocking the potentials of your dreams and aspirations, all you want to do at this point is throw in the towel and give up on your future. I've been there and I can tell you that it's a daily choice I have to make to stay positive and remain focused. The process can be a struggle sometimes but like Eminem said "Success is my only mother**** option, failure's not"

In the position I'm in, I find myself making these kinds of choices almost everyday; the choice to either pay my phone bill and get my toiletries or pay for that promising webinar/seminar? Contributing towards household needs or giving that money to a decent web developer to help elevate the look of my blog to professional status where it can confidently compete/compare to the million others out there? Fact of the matter is that regardless of these tough choices, my future is still worth investing in and towards so how do I do that confidently with little to no funds? The answer is a simple yet not an obvious one and it turns out that I could have been doing this long before I even found myself in this unique position. However, things didn't become clear until I FOUND MYSELF IN THIS UNIQUE POSITION. So the answer is what I call DELIBERATE & INTENTIONAL learning - and here's what I mean by that:

a) When the funds simply are not there to pay for that masterclass, you can learn just about anything by Googling. It's easy, it's free and you can learn at your pace. Take refresher courses whenever you need to and you can be as specific or as generic as you want with your searches. Back when my life was still together, I don't think I used google for anything other than spell check but now it's permanetly open on my browser because I find that there is something I need to learn almost every day.

b) I have found that Blog Surfing is one of the fastest and sure ways to learn from real people who have found success or at least a measure of it, doing what they love. I don't mean just financial success but success with other things like confidence, self assurance, a sense of joy and purpose that comes from finally figuring out what it is they are meant to be doing on this earth. I blog surf more than I ever have before and I can honestly say I've learned things I had no clue about prior. Who knew I could make 6 figures from writing just emails and newsletters? Still looking into that by the way.

c) This may sound a little crazy or maybe even a lot crazy but another way I've been investing in my future is by Watching TV! Before you get all wide eyed and write me off as a scam, allow me explain - So I'll be the first to admit that I watch so many frigging reality shows and television series that my mom guarantees I'm killing off valuable brain cells but I also watch just as many talk shows and you would be amazed at all the stuff you can learn just from watching shows like The Real, Dr Oz, Dr Phil, Ellen, Wendy, The Today Show and Ryan & Kelly and they all teach me something new everyday about something I either knew little or nothing about. These shows do not just entertain but educate and inform so if you are looking for inexpensive ways to invest in your dreams and future, you may need to re-examine your views about watching tv. I know some peole would not consider television watching a productive exercise but you'd be surprised.

d) Participating in Online Quizzes is also a great way to invest in yourself and dreams because they can help you identify more precisely what your personality type is, your interests, your passions and can really give you a compass to where and how you should focus your energies on your journey towards making your dreams a reality. I have been doing more of these quizzes on Pinterest lately and they cost me nothing but about 5-10 minutes of my time.

e) Another popular thing to do is to Watch YouTube Videos. The hair, makeup and fashion videos are great but I also spend time watching videos that talk about personal development, financial management, self employment etc. My favourite Youtubers often will touch on these topics so it's a good idea to spend time watching and learning from your faves. YouTube is like the video version of google so if you are the more visual type, YouTube definitely will have what you need.

Other things you can do include reading books, talking to/seeking advice from others who you can relate with and become centred in yourself enough to be able to identify with the ways that work for you in the pursuit of your dream future. Investing in your dream future doesn't always have to come with a $ amount and if you don't have it, you can't be content to sit back, do nothing and wait till when you do. Life is happening now, it doesn't stop because you are grieving, going through a setback or experiencing pain so keep setting yourself up for success and never accept failure as an option. I know it's a lot easier said than done but if I'm doing it then so can you. Contrary to what your mind may be telling you, the world is not out to get you, rather the Universe (aka God) will keep bringing people and putting things in your life to help you when you need them the most. So look around and tap in.
