8 STUNNING FALL FASHION STYLES THAT WILL INSPIRE YOU/ TOPE AKWADA/ 28 SEPTEMBER
Even though Fall officially arrived on Monday this week, it still feels very much like summer. That however, has not deterred me from starting to build my Fall wardrobe.
I've been steadily shopping (affordably of course) and going through my closet from last year to bring you 8 stunning fall fashion styles that will inspire you.
Let's dive right in...
Fall to me means burnt oranges, khaki greens, sweaters, sweater dresses and boots. It's not as cold as the winter so I go slightly thin on my outfits and layer if I need to.
A classic sweater over dark jeans and combat boots keep me warm and stylish in the Fall. I would typically wear an inner tank top or shirt if it gets too chilly but other than that, this sweater is warm and long enough to keep me cozy all day and night. I got the sweater last year from JCP and previously styled it in a look I have on my Instagram.
This dress is a recent Ross purchase that cost me less than $20 and I have it paired with some black knee length boots. To layer, I would probably have on a neck scarf and teddy coat to combat any sudden chills. Its at the perfect length right above the knee with a belt to snatch my waist. This outfit would look great to Thanksgiving dinner with the bae's family.
Also a recent purchase from Forever 21, this light brown sweater dress is absolutely gorgeous with these boots I got from K&G last year. The dress was on clearance for less than $5 and hugs my curves in all the right places. Some beautiful dainty gold jewelry would also elevate this outfit nicely and I can't wait to rock it when the weather decides to finally co-operate.
Ya'll know Charlotte Russe is one of my favorite stores to shop so this super cute burnt orange sweater dress is yet another new buy that retailed for exactly $10. In this picture, I have it styled with over the knee boots but could also have on a pair of leggings if I wanted. I could see myself layering with my Shein military long line coat as seen in my shopping finds (xmas edition) post to break up the colors even more. The dress is nice and fitted on me but not too tight and the sleeves are long enough to pull over my hands if I need to.
I remember showing you guys this sweater dress I got last year (see link above from the same post) from Charlotte Russe that I was excited to style but honestly never got round to doing. The tag is still on the dress but I plan to put it to good use this time around. I styled it here with a hat I picked up from Walmart over the summer for about $9 and these ankle booties from JCP which also I got last year and have never worn either. My leopard waist bag is also styled for that bit of fresh, youthful touch that I try to infuse in my fashion from time to time. I'm on the lookout for a soft long coat or leopard sweater, preferably a darker shade of brown to wear with this and would style that way should I come across an affordable one.
I see girls style sweater dresses this way all the time on Pinterest and I figure I would look just as good as they do. I'm obsessed with blue and almost always need to buy something in that color. I actually got this dress in the summer last year on clearance for $8 from K&G and saved it for the Fall/Winter season this year. Paired with my trusty over the knees, hat and black mini bag, this is definitely a show stopping and classy look I can rock day or night.
This Target mustard colored sweater was a Christmas gift from last year and has been worn on one occasion to the movies with my sister. I have it styled here a little different from how I originally wore it opting for a darker pair of jeans and some gold Guess sneakers for a more street style look if you will. A simple denim jacket draped over the entire outfit would tie everything together nicely.
You may or may not remember this grey dress from Walmart I got last year which I have worn in a look that's on my Instagram but here I chose to style differently adding this pink sleeveless long line coat from Shein, boots and grey leopard mini bag for a sexy date night look with the boyfriend. I have the same dress in black and a mustard colored version of the longline coat (also from Shein) so both looks will quite possibly debut at some point over these next couple of months.
Obviously not actually wearing these outfits for you to see is as a result of the summer-like weather we currently still have going on in Texas but as soon as things start to cool down, you will definitely be seeing some looks up on the gram.
Are you inspired yet? I'm still shopping for a few nice silk/chiffon dresses and may also have them up on my Instagram whenever I style them out so make sure you are following me on there to catch a glimpse.
What does your Fall fashion wardrobe currently look like? Are you buying new pieces, pulling from old ones or doing both like I am? The comment section is for sharing...
