Lockdown has been rough in many ways for me but where I seem to be struggling the most is trying not to put on mad weight with my ridiculous 'see-food diet'.
In order for me not to come out looking like a beach whale by the time lockdown comes to an end, I have been incorporating some healthy lifestyle changes to help keep me in check. Like some people, I imagine I'm not the only one who dislikes working out, I don't like sweating or feeling sore but in order for me to stay in decent shape and not slip into a permanent food coma, some sweating and aching will be necessary.
There are lots of workout videos on YouTube that I could have followed but I needed something I could commit to short term that would not make me feel like I was going to pass out from so I went on my phone's playstore and found 2 workout apps that I have been using to keep my weight in check while on lockdown.
Both apps are free and have a routine each day for one month. One is a full body workout while the other app targets belly fat. The exercises get a little harder each day and last a few minutes longer than the previous one.
There is also an accompanying daily meal plan that comes with both apps but I have managed to customize these meals to suit my taste and lifestyle.
I like these apps because after working out for 3 or 4 days consistently, you get a day off to relax your muscles and there is also a 30 minute break between exercises which you can skip if you don't feel like you need it. There is a voice guide and coach tip provided to make sure you use the right form during each exercise.
They have other useful features to help your process along but the best thing about these particular workout apps is that after one month is up, you can either start them over again or choose from any of the other free plans automatically suggested that target any and every area you may be concerned about.
Just incorporating this lifestyle change to my every day life has made a difference. I actually enjoy the meals I customized and was deliberate about doing that so I could keep up with preparing them.
