3 WAYS TO GET BACK INTO A ROUTINE

After what has felt like an eternity in lockdown, the outside world has slowly but surely been opening back up. Kids are back at school (optional), restaurants and malls are cautiously opening up to the public once again and life is getting back to a new level of normal.

2020 has certainly been one for the books, shaking everyone to their core but we must keep going despite it all. In order to do that, we've got to get back to doing those things we used to before the world shut down. Today's post offers you 3 ways to get back into a routine after going through a massive disruption such as the ones we've experienced in the last 8 months.

1. Set A Daily/Weekly Schedule

To Do Lists and Planners for daily and weekly activities need to make their way back into your routine. No matter how big or small a task, having a schedule is a good way to begin to get back into a routine. Whether its hair wash day or making that big meeting/appointment, write it all down in your notes, on your phone or laptop to give you that sense of productivity once again.

2. Set New Goals

After experiencing everything we all have gone through this year, it's safe to say that a lot of us now have different priorities and so setting new goals is another good way to get back into a routine. Doing this renews our sense of purpose in getting a thing done. Goals like spending even more time with family and loved ones, starting that project or taking that course to acquire a new skill are examples of new goals to pursue in the next couple of months and beyond.

3. Take Small Deliberate Steps

Everything does not need to happen all at once. Try taking small deliberate steps every day till you get where you are trying to go. For instance, if you are trying to start a YouTube channel but are having trouble with your confidence or knowing what kind of content to put out, take a deliberate step of practicing first on your phone and doing your due diligence with researching online. Watch other YouTube videos of people you like and learn all you can from them. It is a mistake to rush into something you do not feel ready for  without having all the necessary tools at your disposal first.

It has been a difficult year for sure and we've certainly all struggled in more ways than one. Getting back into a routine is just the first step in regaining control of your life. I hope it helps!
