OOTD INSPO: DENIM SHORTS

 


Summer may be over and thank God too because your girl was over the heat. While the season's flaming hot sun rays were no longer palatable for me, that didn't stop me from taking the advantage to rock my favorite pair of denim shorts I scored from Walmart for $7.

Denim Shorts are really a staple piece in the Summer because they can be dressed up or down, worn day or night and could even transition into an early fall piece if properly styled. I plan to do more of these OOTD Inspo posts especially this season but for this post, here's 2 ways I styled my denim shorts over the Summer.

OOTD INSPO: DENIM SHORTS, RED T-SHIRT WITH RED PUMPS


I accessorized with a mix of gold, silver and colored jewelry, an ankara scarf to wrap my hair up and finished with a red flannel shirt around my waist. Going on an early evening date was what I had in mind when I put this look together.




Depending on the kind of date, you could always swap the heels for something more casual and comfortable like a pair of flats, sandals or sneakers. The flannel shirt works in the event that the evening gets a little chilly but still looks pretty cool around the waist. I stayed with the red theme throughout because it's a powerful and passionate color, perfect for a date with your significant other or maybe even a potential new bae.

OOTD INSPO: DENIM SHORTS, LONG WHITE DRESS SHIRT WITH BLUE PUMPS


This was one of the looks I put together for my birthday last week. I've always wanted to style a white shirt with shorts and this felt like the perfect time to try it. For me, this is a chic and brunch appropriate attire with the girls.

Of course there are many ways to spice this look up even more and one way is to layer with a blazer or even a sleeveless long line coat. You could add a belt for the popular synched waist effect we all love and accessorize with a brooch or layered necklace for a more girly look.

Like I stated earlier, I've been able to transition these shorts to Fall and styled it only a few days ago with an orange T-shirt and black ugg boots. Denim shorts are certainly a versatile style piece that every girl needs in her closet.
