THE TRUTH VS THE LIES

Today's message is going to be a pretty simple one and that is to ignore the lies and believe only the truth. From the time we are born till we die, the probability that we will believe many lies about ourselves is high as against what the truth is, which is what God says in His word.

It can be severely challenging to believe non truths about ourselves because we base the information on tangibles like upbringing, environment and association but as believers we are called to believe only the true and intangible word of God, aka The Bible. It is a fact that when you repeatedly expose yourself to the same information over and over again, you tend to believe it as the truth. If that be the case, then the question becomes 'what information are you exposing yourself to and consuming repeatedly as truth?'

Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God ( Romans 10:17) so if we repeatedly feed our souls and minds with the truth, it becomes more difficult to believe any lies the enemy feeds you. Over the years, I have believed many lies about myself that have gone on to become strongholds today because I allowed things like comparison, fear and a lack of skillset replace what God has said about me. Thanks to the Holy Spirit, I am learning to do better by believing different. For me, it has become The Truth Vs The Lies because mindsets that have formed over many years require consistent time to be broken and this often is a daily battle.

The Bible in II Corinthians 10: 5 says " Casting down imaginations and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ". This means that anything that is contrary to what God says about me or has promised me must be cast down and the word of God must go up in its place. The power of life and death are in the tongue so if I want to experience life in any area of my life, I've got to speak it into existence. Below are some scriptures I like to meditate on and declare when those pesky negative thoughts or emotions threaten to disrupt my peace;

  1. When I'm feeling anxious or nervous: Philippians 4: 6-7; Psalm 91
  2. Doubt/Fear: 2 Timothy 1:7; Isaiah 41: 10
  3. Pride/Stubbornness: James 4: 19; 2 Corinthians 10: 17-18
  4. Confusion: 1 Corinthians 14:33; John 16: 13
  5. Feelings of Inadequacy: Isaiah 41: 13
These are just a few scriptures I confess and believe because they are the truth. The Bible is full of scriptures like these to help for whatever strongholds and mindsets that have held us captive and I highly recommend making these declarations over yourself when you need to and watch God do the rest.

I apologize in advance as I will not be uploading any post for the next few weeks but I will return to my full blogging schedule on the 10th of August and I hope to see you guys back here with me. In the meantime, keep God first place, stay consistent with Him and He will show you His Mercy and Favor.

Excess Love,

Ibogirl
