Self Evaluation is necessary for growth and I make a conscious effort to take stock of my personal self development at least on a yearly basis. On my birthday each year, my goal is to reflect on the last 365 days and proceed to make improvements or change strategies where necessary to my mindset, my reactions to situations and/or people and my overall attitude.

In 2023, I have resolved to be a much bolder, much more trustworthy and teachable version of myself. These 3 traits are essential to my future self and who I envision her to be. I may not know how long it will take me to fully become HER (or if at all the process ever stops) but I am determined to consistently show up as that version of myself today.

By taking small but intentional steps out of my comfort zones, resolving to be teachable no matter how good I think I may be at something and making sure that I am someone others can always trust with anything; from their secrets to their most treasured possessions (whatever those may be). Monetary goals are one thing but making sure to set goals that are crucial to my character development carry far more weight to me nowadays. So who have you resolved to be in 2023? If you are yet to ask yourself this question, may I recommend that you do a deep internal dive to discover the answer and set about taking the steps required to become that person.

Even the book of Romans tells us "Do not copy the behavior and customs of this world but let God transform you into a new person by changing  the way you think. Then you will learn to know God's will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect" (see Romans 12: 2).
