The need for goal setting can never be over-emphasized and the reason many of us do it is because we reap the benefits of productivity and a sense of accomplishment when a goal has been realized at the end of the day.

Setting Goals can be a daily, weekly, monthly or even yearly activity and they range from the major like achieving optimal health and wellness or finally taking the leap to start a business to the minor like completing a simple task or remembering to make an important phone call. Whichever you look at it, setting goals is always a good idea and if setting one goal a month is all you can handle, I have a list of 12 short term goal ideas with one for each month you can focus on.

Goal setting like I always say need not be complicated. They can be simplified down as you need them to be but by the end, the results are the same - pride in accomplishing what you set out to do and intentionality behind getting the task done.

Here are 12 short term goal ideas you can spread out into each month:

1. Clean Out Your Closet: Donate, Trash and Gift Out clothes you no longer wear or are no more your style for a fresh, updated and organized closet.

2. Detox For 1 Month: If losing weight is your goal and exercising consistently poses a challenge, detoxing may be a good alternative for days you are unable to work out.

3. No Phone For 30 Mins Each Day: You would be amazed at how many other things you can get done within the time you spend on your phone scrolling through all of the social media platforms there are.

4. Learn Something New: No matter how big or small, challenge yourself to learn something you didn't know before. It could be a new recipe, a cool way to do a chore or even a new way to style your hair.

5. Keep A Daily To Do List Of 10 Items Or Less: This practice facilitates productivity and allows you appreciate the small milestones you would otherwise ignore.

6. Do An Act Of Self Care: Even when you can not treat yourself to a professional service, there are still small acts of self care you can do at home by yourself. Eg- taking a bubble bath, enjoying a nice cup of tea before bed and having a glass of your favorite Moscato with a meal.

7. Work Out For 30mins Each Day: Focus your attention on the areas you want to tone, strengthen or loose weight in or an all over work out routine to maintain general fitness.

8. Read One Self Development Book Each Month: This could be the something new you learn monthly if this is a goal you are intentional about.

9. Avoid Coffee, Soda, Candy Etc: They say it takes 21 days for a skill to become habit so imagine what staying away from unhealthy foods, drinks and habits for a full month can do for your mind, body and spirit.

10. Do One Thing That Scares You: For me, it is trying new foods because I am not very adventurous with my palette. Think of something that scares you, no matter how little it may seem and try it, you never know what could happen.

11. Do One Thing You Have Never Done Before: This could equally be the thing that scares you but don't over complicate it unnecessarily. Growth is the goal not perfection.

12. Last but by no means the least is to Go To Church Consistently: I don't mean online!! Go in person and be among people who love and worship God. It's great for your spirit and soul.

One goal each month results in an epic glow up by the end of the year. You may not realize as its happening but look back and take stock when the year ends and you will be amazed to find that you are not the same person you were when the year began.
